Hey Kim—
Great to hear from you again. It sounds as if things are moving along in your orientation, and God is already moving within you, preparing you for your mission. Blessing to you!
Minnesota remains cold, but not bitterly–more seasonally appropriate. The famous groundhog (Pux-something-or-other) “saw” his shadow, so we’re supposed to have 6 more weeks of winter. After living here for more than 20 years, I don’t count on anything spring-wise until AFTER state basketball tourney time.
I will be sending a few small things to your folks so that it eventually gets to you. Nothing very big or exciting, but a little something anyway. I don’t have a picture of me, but that’s ok. I’m frequently reminded through work here that God has showered me with more blessings than one person should be allowed!
I “knew” in my head that medical facilities in Africa would be very primitive, but your description pointed out that my imagination was a monumental understatement. I cannot even begin to fathom……..
I hope when you reach your mission destination, you will continue to write about conditions. Perhaps it would be possible for me to send some smallish pictures for patient’s rooms? Or anything you feel would be helpful, and not insulting, to the people there? Keep me posted. I’d like to be one arm of a “supply line” for you and your mission work, if I can. (Right now I’d love to send you the cat that is pestering me…..! lol)
Better go get some stuff done myself. Know that I think of you, and pray for you and all those in your mission.
God Bless You All!

PS—Where was my head???? I never realized you were from Bloomfield! I grew up in Denmark, and graduated from Ft. Madison High School. We could have carpooled home from time to time! -L

Hello Kim!
I love reading your blog and getting to “see” parts of Africa that most of us will never see. I can’t wait for some photos so I can share them with my daughters! Please keep blogging….your experiences are a constant reminder we all have so many lessons to learn and so much to be thankful for.
Take care

Heri ya Krismasi kutoka Rochester!!!
-20 degrees in December with a foot of snow! Love it. Still biking. Furnace just went kaput, but glad for it to do so now before we leave for sunny Florida in a couple weeks.
Boy, you have some real funny stories here! Keep blogging Kim! I enjoy reading the stories. I can literally hear you tell them.
We got your lovely African card. You’re so thoughtful. I think of you often and pray for you. Wow. I still can’t believe you’re really over there and doing it! Through God, anything is possible!!
Talk later. And you should know, all is very well here.
